YPF Trip out

New Brighton 2025

5th April 2025

We are taking the bus, train, ferry and walking to New Brighton and back on a mini adventure. We will be meeting at Bethel Church for 10:30am (you may like to come earlier and have breakfast at our cafe).

Here is our itinerary:

  1. Bus from church to Queen’s square.

  2. Walk to the Pier Head.

  3. Get the ferry across to Seacombe.

  4. Walk to New Brighton.

  5. Have our lunch and play adventure golf.

  6. Walk tot he train station.

  7. Train to James Street.

  8. Walk to Queen’s Square.

  9. Bus back to Bethel for around 4:30pm.

If you are allowed to make your own way home from town, you must let us know on the sign up form before hand.

You will need:

  • to Sign up online to say you are coming.

  • Suitable shoes/trainers.

  • Raincoat.

  • Warm jacket/jumper.

  • Suncream (if it’s sunny).

  • At least two bottles of water.

  • Packed lunch.

  • A Metro card (and an all zones ticket (including ferry crossing) on your card).

  • A backpack to carry everything in.

  • Money for snacks and adventure golf.

How the Metro card works:

You need to purchase a Metro card from a Merseytravel shop before Saturday. These cost £1.

The information we had previously been given (and passed on to you) is incorrect. To top up your card, take it to a PayPoint location and ask for an 'all zones child's ticket'. This will cost £3.25. The MerseyTravel website also says you can do this at a manned train station and on the bus.

We apologise for the misinformation.

What if the weather is bad?

If there are high winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms etc, we will let you know on Friday that there will be a change the plan. We will try to book another activity that is indoors and have time at church to play games and have lunch.

How much should I bring?

We recommend around £10. This will cover the cost of golf and have money to spare.

What if we are home later than expected?

We will let you know what time we will be heading back and ask you to contact your parents to keep them updated.
